Galindia, land of the ancient tribe of Galindians, situated
on the peninsula at the outlet of river Krutynia to Bełdany Lake.
It has about 20 ha of surface
in the centre of Polish Forest
in the terrain of the Masurian Landscape Park.
The vicinity of Iznota from the 5th century b.c.
to the 13th century were inhabited by the tribe of Galindians, which was described by Roman chroniclers, among others: Tacitus
and Ptolemy.
Through Galindia ran THE AMBER ROUTE, that was used to transport the extremely precious amber to south and west.
